Maintenance Technician - $5,500 Sign-On Bonus

Quaker Oats, part of PepsiCo, is looking for a Maintenance Technician to work in our fast-paced 24-hour operating manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technican is responsible for repairing and installing production/manufacturing equipment. Maintenance Technician will inspect equipment for proper functioning and preforms preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer’s specifications.

Below is a list of responsibilities that would include but, are not limited to:

* Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment and machinery to ensure maximum operational efficiency
* Maintains function and reliability of manufacturing and support equipment by performing preventative maintenance
* Monitors machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises, and conducting testing as appropriate
* Performs breakdown analysis
* Upgrade production lines with new equipment/technology
* Work independently under limited supervision and on teams
* Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness
* Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions
* May perform other related duties as necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the organization


* High school diploma or GED equivalent, is preferred
* Trade school or Technical degree, a plus
* Experience working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, a plus
* Use or establish visual and dynamic controls
* Use of predictive tools
* Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System
* Experience with mechanical systems (gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings)
* Experience with product manuals (reading and applying knowledge to make repairs)
* Experience with troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns)
* Experience with reading mechanical drawings (hydraulics, pneumatics)
* Forklift repair and service, a plus

Working Environment:

* Working conditions are normal for manufacturing environment with varying temperatures. Work may involve frequent lifting of material and product up to 50 pounds
* Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but, not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes/boots, and safety gloves
* Work will involve excessive climbing of stairs/ladders, bending, pushing/pulling, crawling on hands and knees, working in tight/confined spaces, and heights that could exceed 100 feet
* All employees must comply with companies Current Good Manufacturing Practices and wear company issued uniforms
