Maintenance Technician

Quaker Oats, part of PepsiCo, is looking for a Maintenance Technician to work in our fast-paced 24-hour operating manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and installing production/manufacturing equipment. Maintenance Technician will inspect equipment for proper functioning and preforms preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer’s specifications.

As a full-time team member, you would work 40 hours per week and overtime may be required to meet business needs.

Below is a list of responsibilities that would include but, are not limited to:
* Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment and machinery to ensure maximum operational efficiency
* Maintains function and reliability of manufacturing and support equipment by performing preventative maintenance
* Monitors machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises, and conducting testing as appropriate
* Performs breakdown analysis
* Upgrade production lines with new equipment/technology
* Work with outside contractors on assigned tasks
* Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards
* Work independently under limited supervision and on teams
* Documentation of work schedule and work tasks completed
* Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness
* Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions
* May perform other related duties as necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Helpful Experience:
* Electrical systems and electronics (starters, fuses, contacts, relays, drives/VFD’s, flow meters)
* Conveyers and airveyors (air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed control)
* Gearing and gear boxes (rebuilds, ordering parts, machining parts)
* PLC (industrial maintenance, computer control systems.)
* Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics (solenoids, cylinders, valves, troubleshooting)
* Schematics (electrical blueprints)
* SERVO (intelligent/robotic motors, in-coders, etc.)
* Troubleshooting (diagnostics, problem solving, etc.)
* Working in a team-based environment
* Knowledge and use of basic machining techniques and equipment (drill press, lathe, milling machine)
* Welding experience (TIG, MIG, Arc-Welding)

Minimum Requirements:
* Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
* Must have a general knowledge of PC’s, excellent communication, interpersonal, training, teaming, and problem-solving skills
* Past experience with root cause problem solving and troubleshooting complex machinery.
* Must have basic math, analytical and technical skills.
* Must work effectively in a team environment which requires continued development of new skills, continued drive for productivity and process improvements, self-direction and the ability to communicate at all levels
* Must be able to work any shift in any department, including an alternative 12-hour work schedule, weekends, and holidays.
* Regular predictive attendance is required.
* Must be able to work over 40 hours a week.
* Must be able to meet the physical demands of working in a manufacturing environment including, but not limited to, excessive heat, dust, and noise
* Must have the ability to lift moderately heavy weights (up to 50 pounds)
* Must be willing to comply with grooming/sanitation requirements
